GCSE
Introduction
Global Perspectives is a ground-breaking and stimulating course that extends across traditional subject boundaries and develops transferable skills. It is both cross-curricular and skills-based, and taps into the way learners of today enjoy learning. The course includes the opportunity to work collaboratively on a team project and to explore global issues.
Course Content
The curriculum covers topics such as demographic changes, employment, law and criminality, the digital world, sustainable living, biodiversity and ecosystem loss, trade and globalisation but is adaptable to suit the students’ personal interests. With a strong emphasis on individual research skills, extended essay construction and presentation skills, Global Perspectives seeks to enhance students’ core learning skills that are needed in further study. The GCSE course is therefore a solid foundation of skills for those who might intend to study Sixth Form subjects such as Geography, Sociology or Politics.
