Assessment Process

Candidates sit our scholarship papers at the College over three days in the Spring Term. Students will sit papers in each of the core subjects: English, Mathematics, and Science. In addition they will choose to sit papers in three of the following: Geography, History, Religious Studies, Latin, French, German, and Spanish.

Applicants also have an interview of about 15-minutes with the Head of College or Deputy Head of College. The interview is intended to assess the candidate's particular academic interests, and candidates for academic scholarships are expected to be able to identify and expand on their intellectual passions either within or outside the topics they have studied at school. For all applicants, the College will require a confidential report from the candidate's current school to support their application.

Expectation of Academic Scholars

Academic Scholars are expected to maintain high standards of excellence in their contribution to their academic study, have a consistently purposeful approach to school life, and sustain a strong work ethic.

Every scholarship holder is expected to set an example for other students in their conduct and approach to academic study. Scholarship holders are required to participate in the fuller life of the Senior School through its programme of extra-curricular activities, attend academic lectures and participate in annual academic competitions. Scholarship holders are also required to promote the school as requested at all Open Mornings.
